Singing On 2021

Our first concert for 2021 was performed for the first time at the historic Fort Street High School in Petersham. Highlights of the program included Beethoven’s beautiful but rarely performed Opferlied and Elegisher Gesang, and the Brahms Geistliches Lied. We were also joined by the accomplished Amy Moore as our soprano soloist.

The concert also premiered a new work by Christopher Bowen for choir and ensemble orchestra.
A Fragment of Sappho, a paean to love based on the tale of Helen of Troy, commissioned by a distinguished Sydney surgeon as a gift to his wife on the occasion of a special wedding anniversary.
