Sydney University Graduate Choir, established in 1951 as a society of the University of Sydney, was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit association in 2012. It has established a reputation for performing both well-known and more recently discovered major choral works, which all require a professional orchestra and soloists. SUGC regularly performs larger works with an extended guest choir in Sydney Town Hall as part of its ‘Sydney Sings™’ series. The Choir is also responsible for the biennial Joan Carden Award competition for young professional soloists, with a first prize of $6000.

The Choir’s main sources of income are concert tickets including subscriptions, and membership fees. It is therefore most grateful for donations, and welcomes sponsorship and advertising in support of its performances. Your support will help the Choir to continue singing and provide employment for many freelance musicians and singers who don’t enjoy the certainty offered by a full-time position.

Sponsorship

The Choir is most grateful for sponsorship. Sponsorship packages are tailored to the sponsor and include some combination of acknowledgement of the sponsor in the Choir’s extensive pre-concert publicity; acknowledgement on the day of the concert (including in the program); and, in some cases, reserved seating for the sponsor’s guests.

The Choir would like to acknowledge and thank The University of Sydney for the arrangements that are in place for the Choir’s use of the Great Hall.

To discuss sponsorship opportunities further, please contact our development team at development@sugc.com.au.

Advertising

The Choir is well known for designing and producing particularly attractive and informative concert programs that are appreciated by audience and choristers alike, often kept as souvenirs for many years afterwards.

Advertising space in the program is available at very attractive rates. Please contact our advertising manager on advertise@sugc.com.au.
