Outstanding tenor soloist, Andrew Goodwin, whose fine contribution to our performance of Mendelssohn’s ‘The First Walpurgisnacht’ in May last year will be remembered, has recently returned from a visit to Russia. While there, he performed the role of Nemorino in Donizetti’s ‘L’Elisir d’Amore’ in Saint Petersburg.
As well, Andrew performed a recital at the residence of the Australian Ambassador, H.E. Margaret Twomey, in Moscow. Ms Twomey reports that Andrew’s performance, which included songs by Rachmaninoff and Lensky’s famous aria from Tchaikovsky’s ‘Yevgeni Onegin’, was received rapturously by the mainly Russian audience.
These photos were taken at the Moscow recital.
With many thanks to John Bowan
Do tell your friends to book seats early to see not only Andrew but also his lovely and talented wife, Maria Timofeeva, wow our audience (and we singers too, no doubt) at Paulus in May! And in the meantime you can watch and listen to Andrew perform the Lensky aria in your own residence by clicking here.
